January 2021
Let’s put 2020 behind us. It is time, now, to stop looking backwards at what a challenging year it was; and start, instead, to look forwards at what a fantastic year we can create.
Let’s come together, whether physically or virtually, to build a new world in 2021. A world of hope and optimism; a world of new ideas and solutions; a world of working together to solve challenges; and a world where we forge a fairer, kinder future.
Here are my mantras to carry us through 2021:
I
stand with others to make a better world
Let’s start the new year off with the energy and enthusiasm to change the world! Whether it’s doing more for the environment, by re-using and recycling more, driving less, or planting more trees; or taking an active role in our company, community or peer group, to make change happen; or championing those who are marginalised in society – let’s approach this year with more than just a positive intention.
I attract only good things
Let’s also start the new year off with positivity and optimism – determined to attract good things into our lives. A positive mindset, an optimistic approach, and a belief that things will work out for the best, all contribute to us having a happier and more positive experience on this earth. Try to hold onto this spirit of optimism, as you create your own luck in life.
You inspire me
Is there someone out there who really inspires you? It could be someone you know, or someone you admire from afar. Why not let that inspiration take fire this year, and act on your excitement? Use that person and their actions as a role model to spur you on; or work out what it is that inspires you, so you can find your own inner fire; or get in touch, and let them know how inspiring you find them.
I open my heart to new experiences, without expectation
In this new year – let’s all open our hearts and our minds to new and different things. It may be that we still can’t do everything we had hoped or planned for, quite yet. So, let’s stay open-minded and adventurous. And let’s avoid setting too many expectations of how something will work out, before we even experience it. Embrace the unknown, and enjoy the experience.
Give me the vision to see far ahead, the strength to keep going, and the courage to soar
This mantra is one we all need this year. It’s a mantra of vision and ambition, asking us to soar upwards with courage and confidence. We none of us know what the future holds – 2020 taught us that – but let’s not let that hold us back. Soar onwards and upwards with enthusiasm and courage, and set your sights on a brighter future.
Sail away from the harbour. Explore, dream, discover
There is a saying that ships aren’t designed to stay in the harbour – they are built to ride the waves and cross the ocean. 2020 might have made us feel anxious about what lies around the corner - but life has always been like that. We never know what is around the corner. So – summon your courage, and sail away from the harbour. Life is to be lived and experienced, not hidden away from.
Let my imagination soar and my ideas flow
We’ve talked about this mantra before, because it’s a great call for inspiration when we need new ideas or solutions, or when we want to access the heights of our imagination. In 2021, let’s all look for new solutions to old problems; let’s look at things differently; let’s dream up new possibilities; and let’s set our minds to making the world a better place for everyone.
I
can, and I will
This
is the mantra for our new Mountain Necklace, created as a result of our new
product competition a few months ago. It is a positive affirmation to say to
yourself, to give you the confidence and belief that you need when tackling
something hard. Say this to yourself at any point in 2021, when you feel your
energy or enthusiasm starting to flag. Not only can you do this – but
you will.
I am grateful for all that I have
If 2020 taught us anything, it is that many of us have so much to be grateful for in our lives. Whether it be our health, our home, our job, or our loved ones, we have so much to appreciate in our lives. Recognising this, and expressing our gratitude for what we have, helps us to focus on the positives in life and really notice and appreciate all the good things – diverting our time and attention away from the things we feel we lack. This is a great mantra to carry through 2021.
I am evolving and transforming
This mantra celebrates change within ourselves, not just out in the world. If we look closely at ourselves, what is it we most need to evolve? Perhaps now is the time for a more positive outlook, a more active lifestyle, or a more open mindset? Let’s make 2021 the year of changing for the better.
I am excited about 2021, as
it is a chance to put the challenges of 2020 behind us, and move forwards
positively. I’d like to start making plans again, and looking forward to the
things that I have planned. But I would also like to take a new attitude of
proactivity and change with me, to do my bit to help make the world a better
place. I don’t yet know what that looks like – but I know it’s time.
