Caring for your Jewellery

Tips on caring for your jewellery

Mantra Jewellery is made from 925 Sterling Silver, with some plated in 18ct Gold or Rose Gold.

Here are some tips on caring for your jewellery:

Silver will naturally oxidise when exposed to moisture, so try to keep your jewellery dry. Please avoid wearing it in the shower, bath or when swimming, and don't spray perfume, body spray or deodorant directly at the jewellery, as this will encourage oxidisation. It will also damage the plating on the Rose and Yellow Gold-plated pieces.

You can remove any oxidisation to your Silver pieces with a Silver polishing cloth or Silver dip (don't dip Gold or Rose Gold-plated pieces - simply use a polishing cloth). These are readily available from supermarkets.

Mantra designs are delicate, with fine chains and discreet clasps. Please be careful when handling your chains and removing your jewellery, to avoid tangling or putting too much strain on the chain. Be especially careful when removing clothing, especially jumpers, as you may catch your necklace and pull the chain. We particularly advise not to wear your jewellery in bed.

Bracelets in particular can be fiddly to put on and take off, as they are a delicate chain and lobster clasp - so please take care. They are not stretchy or elasticated, so cannot be pulled off. It may be easier to ask someone else to put on or remove your bracelet, if you struggle to do it yourself.

Our men’s bracelets are made from Stainless Steel and Leather. Stainless Steel is a hardy metal which doesn’t tarnish, but it will scratch over time with normal wear and tear. Leather will naturally wear over time, and can be damaged by exposure to water. Coloured leather will discolour if exposed to suncreams, shower gels and other chemicals.

We advise you to avoid wearing our Stainless Steel and Leather bracelets in the shower or when swimming, and do not spray aftershave directly onto them, as this will damage the surface. You may help safeguard the leather by using a leather protective spray, but always read the instructions carefully.

If looked after, your Mantra Jewellery should bring you joy and inspiration every day, for many years to come!

Guarantee

Mantra Jewellery comes with a 2 year warranty against manufacturing faults. This does not cover normal wear and tear, such as scratching to the surface; the plating wearing off over time; water damage; or breakage through mishandling or accidental damage.

Accidental damage is when the chain breaks because it becomes caught on something, such as clothing; or is pulled, perhaps by a child. This is not covered by the guarantee. Unfortunately, chains are not designed to be indestructible, so we urge you to take care, especially when putting on, or removing, your necklace or bracelet.

Please contact us if you have any problems with your jewellery, on hello@mantrajewellery.co.uk

Replacement Chains

If you have accidentally damaged or broken your chain, you can purchase a new Diamond-cut Ball Chain (for Disc necklaces) or a classic Trace Chain (for Symbol necklaces) here
