We’re very excited to be attending the first ever Life Lessons Festival at the Barbican, London this month. This event will feature leading thinkers, philosophers and authors, plus live podcasts, spa sessions, yoga, workshops and a Shopping Village full of mindful brands (which is where you’ll find Mantra Jewellery). Life Lessons is a place to learn, grow, challenge ideas and stretch the mind and body – we can’t wait to be part of it!
In the spirit of the festival, we’ve put together our favourite mantras that work as life lessons. These mantras will help you find perspective, change negative thought patterns and encourage you to be the best version of you…
Everything I need is already within me
This mantra is all about self-belief and self-confidence. It is a strong and powerful reminder that we all have the qualities within us to be what we want in life.
It asks us to tune into ourselves, and look deep within – because that is where we will find the belief and the confidence to take us forwards in life. We don’t need to look externally for validation or approval – we can find that in ourselves. Strength, courage, trust – these can come from within. Peace of mind, calm, contentment – these are within our own grasp.
Find A Way
The mantra spurs us on to dig deep, keep going, stay focused - until we find a way. It reminds us that there isn’t only one way to do something, or one path to follow. It is up to us to persevere, to keep trying, until we find the right way for us.
We were inspired to create this piece by the remarkable story of Diana Nyad, who swam 111 miles across shark-infested waters from Cuba to Florida. She succeeded on her fifth attempt, at the age of 64, having made her first attempt at age 30. Determined that one day, she would find a way to succeed, she never gave up trying.

Let go of the past and the past will let go of you
We love this mindful mantra to remind you to live in the present, forget about the past and not worry about the future. 'Let Go' is a great mantra for anyone who can succumb to anxiety, as it is a reminder to stay present.
We can all find our minds being dragged back to past events that we simply cannot change: much better to move forwards without regret, and live your life in the present. Repeat this mantra to yourself to help you stay grounded when you feel yourself becoming preoccupied with the past.
Surrender to the festival of life
This mantra comes from our collaboration with love coach, Persia Lawson. Having once been a serial cheater and obsessive love addict, Persia is now proud to be in a happy and committed relationship, and is passionate about helping women get and sustain healthy, soulful, lasting relationships in the chaos of the modern dating world.
Her mantra, ‘Surrender to the festival of life’, urges us to do the things we love and surrender to the magical joy of life - instead of trying to control everything – and life will find a way to bring us what we need, including the right person.
