My Best Self - The Crown Chakra

Posted: by Jo Thursday, 26 May 2022 @ 13:48

This year sees a sixth year of our My Best Self campaign, which we kicked off when we first launched Mantra in 2016.

The idea is to share stories about how we can all step up and be our best selves. For me, having a mantra – a memorable set of words – in a given moment can really help to change our thoughts and our behaviours. That is why I created Mantra Jewellery – to bring together inspiring words and a tangible reminder, in a beautiful piece of jewellery.

This year, we are sharing stories and examples from some of you, our lovely customers, about why you chose a particular mantra.

We hear your stories when we come to events, and you tell us why you have chosen that specific mantra; when you phone us up to ask for advice; when you message us on Live Chat, to get our opinion; or when you give us a review on Feefo and you tell us what the gift was for. Or when you explain the message which you’d like us to write on the card.

We will never identify who you are; or use your name in a story. We absolutely don’t want to embarrass you, or intrude on your privacy. But we do want to share your lovely kindness, your belief in a friend, your love for your daughter, your support for a colleague  – to inspire others with your thoughtfulness.

If you’d like to contribute to our year-long campaign, then please drop us an email with your story, to enquiries@mantrajewellery.co.uk, with the subject line – ‘Sharing a Story’. We’d love to hear from you – and we promise to share all stories anonymously.

‘I open myself up to life’s mysteries’ – Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra launched less than 6 months ago, at the beginning of December 2021, and has already become one of our bestsellers.

The mantra itself – ‘I open myself up to life’s mysteries’ - was written as a message of encouragement to keep an open mind; to recognise that there are many things we don’t have answers to in the world; and to be comfortable living with a certain amount of uncertainty and unknowing.

Crown chakra

We brought this inspiring message to life with the symbol of the Crown Chakra – the energy centre that hovers above the crown of our head, and is said to help us experience a connection with God or universal intelligence. It is considered the chakra of enlightenment, representing our connection to our spirituality, helping us to see who we are beyond our physical self – reminding us that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Chakras are a complex and ancient energy system that originated in India over 1000 years ago, the term coming from the Sanskrit word for 'wheel'. These seven spinning wheels of energy are meant to be open and aligned, for you to feel in balance. When one or more of your chakras becomes blocked or unbalanced, it is thought to have an impact on your physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health.

Since we launched the Crown Chakra, it has proven most popular as a self-purchase, with many people buying it as a reminder for themselves to keep an open mind, and embrace curiosity and uncertainty.

With self-purchases, we often don’t know the exact reasons for the purchase, as many things can prompt someone to buy themselves a Mantra necklace – from a specific event or happening in your life; to a realisation that a Mantra could help you overcome a limiting belief; to a desire to change your beliefs or behaviours; to a simple desire to treat yourself.

But others of you have bought the Crown Chakra as a gift – perhaps a birthday, leaving present, ‘new start’ gift, or other, and in this case, we often know your reasons.

Here are just a few examples from your stories –

Mantras for Encouragement

Encouragement: We have seen the Crown Chakra given as a reminder to stay open-minded and open-hearted, no matter what has happened in life

New Start: It has been used as a gift when someone is starting out on something new, as an encouragement to feel comfortable with the not knowing

positvity

Positivity: The mantra about opening ourselves up has been gifted in tough times, to encourage someone to remain open-hearted and curious
