Jo's Journal - January 2020

Posted: by Jo Monday, 30 December 2019 @ 10:17

December has been a very busy month for us at Mantra, as you would expect. Our jewellery is intended as a meaningful, lasting gift to inspire a loved one and convey a powerful message to them – and many of you have discovered us for the first time this Christmas.

All of our pieces come on a card, with space on the back to write a message as to why you chose that specific mantra for your loved one. We print this message for you, in a handwriting font, so the recipient of your gift knows exactly why you felt that was the mantra for them, right now in their life.

It has been absolutely humbling and heart-warming to read your messages to your loved ones, with many of them bringing us to tears.

I want to take the time to share some of them with you here. It really shows us what amazingly kind and generous people you all are, with beautiful souls. Here are just a few of your messages:

“You are a gifted, beautiful and wonderful woman. 2020 is your year. Step forward into your own light.”

“I want you to know what an incredibly brave woman you are, and I feel blessed to have you in my life.”

“Everything is hard before it is easy.”

“I know you can do everything you set your beautiful mind to. Follow the mantra and always believe in yourself. We do.”

“You are truly amazing and inspirational. Keep fighting, keep believing in yourself. Your strength and courage will get you through.”

“I am so proud to call you my mum. I hope my girls will look at me one day in the same way I look at you.”

“The mind is the most powerful organ in your body - set your mind to believe.”

“To my beautiful friend. You are such a huge inspiration to me as a mum, a wife, a friend and simply as a stunning human. Whenever you face a challenge in life, wear this necklace and remember your strength, and that you have a friend in me forever.”

We are always so happy when you find the mantra that is perfect for what you want to say. And if you have something even more specific in mind, we can engrave that on a larger, ‘myMantra’ necklace for you.

Again, we have engraved some powerful and meaningful mantras for you this Christmas, to make your jewellery truly personal.

From the short but strong, ‘This too shall pass’ and ‘You got this’, to longer quotations from favourite poems, such as ‘I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul’, your words are always inspiring to hear.

A myMantra necklace enables you to carry the words with you that are most meaningful to you.

For me this year, Christmas was lovely and quiet, spent down in Cornwall with my husband. Long walks along the cliffs, watching the sea crashing against rocks on the beaches, and a beautiful sunny Christmas Day, as we enjoyed peace and quiet, and made the most of our time together. I started reading some of the books I'd been given for Christmas - the brilliant 'On Chapel Sands', for example - and had the tv firmly switched off.

New Year was a much more sociable time – up in Scotland, dancing the night away at a ceilidh – and Twelfth Night weekend with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew, in their fifteenth century farmhouse, is a new festive tradition for us all.

So, a lovely balance of peace and quiet, mixed with family times – perfect!

We start January with lots of new ideas for Mantra for 2020, and will also be asking you for your ideas and input for new designs and mantras.

I look forward to catching up with you all later in January.

Happy New Year!

Jo xxx
