An exciting new Mantra Jewellery collaboration with Dr Gemma Newman

Posted: by Jo Tuesday, 28 January 2020 @ 15:30

I am absolutely thrilled to announce our latest wellbeing collaboration, with Dr Gemma Newman - known as the Plant Power Doctor.

Dr Newman has worked in medicine for over 16 years, and is the Senior Partner at a family medical practice where she has worked for 12 of those years. She has a specialist interest in holistic health, plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

As a GP in her Practice, she has come to understand that body, mind and soul are not separate, and that it is only in addressing the root causes of stress and disconnection that we can truly heal, from the inside out.

When I first met Gemma and heard her story and her wellness philosophy, I was really keen to work with her. Do read her story in her own words here, including the insight that came from her husband running the London Marathon - as it is truly uplifting to find such an open minded and curious GP.

Because I see Mantra as sitting firmly in the wellbeing space - your necklace is a tangible reminder of a powerful and uplifting message to help you reconnect with yourself, and slow down – Gemma is the perfect partner for us.

She is a firm believer that we can take back control of our wellness journey – whatever stage of life or health we are in right now. Our intention is that wearing the necklace, and repeating its mantra, acts as a daily symbol of empowerment to remind us that we are in control, and we have that power.

Gemma had a very clear idea of how she wanted the necklace to look, and the powerful words she wanted to express her belief. Here she explains the thinking behind the design:

“This beautiful and unusual necklace is a way to remind ourselves that true wellbeing lies within us all.

I wanted to incorporate a heart, as it encourages us to embrace love as the foundation for wellbeing. Love for ourselves, love for our journey so far, and love for what our bodies achieve every day.

I also wanted a spiral design to be part of it, to symbolise the universal journey for deeper meaning and looking within ourselves - the winding evolution that we take when we truly focus on finding peace within.

And lastly, I wanted to include a leaf to remind us of the importance of plants to aid our wellbeing and healing, in what we consume; and the link between ourselves and nature, as we care for the planet that we live on. Because we are all connected.”

The necklace launched at the London wellbeing event, Live Well London.

It will make the perfect gift for a friend who is going through a tough time with her health or wellbeing; your daughter, as she sets out into adulthood; a beautiful reminder for anyone embarking on a wellness journey; or a mindful self-purchase, to reinforce a self-care and empowerment state of mind.
