Jo's Journal - January

Posted: by Jo Monday, 28 January 2019 @ 10:31

I love the start of a new year. It really does seem to signal a new beginning, and a chance to adopt a new mindset.

For me, 2018 was a tough year personally, with my Mum passing away at the end of November, after two years’ of illness. But the pause of the Christmas break, and the symbolism of a new year, have been good for me.

I am starting to look forwards again, rather than backwards; and am adopting some new habits which will serve me better. I will continue to embrace the two mantras that I adopted coming into Christmas, especially finding light in the darkness.

Within our team here at Mantra, January signifies the start of a busy period, with Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Spring, all approaching rapidly; and our event season getting into full swing.

We took our jewellery to a Trade Fair, ‘Top Drawer’, earlier this month, to meet with retailers who might become future stockists; and we are getting ready for ‘Live Well London’ and ‘The Mindful Living Show’ – two wellbeing events that we are being featured at.

I will be running my ‘Find your mantra’ session at both, to help you find and create personal mantras to motivate yourself, and help change your mindset.

We have a lovely new Mantra necklace for Valentine’s Day, where we have taken our bestselling Love Mandala disc, and added a tiny gold heart, to make it truly romantic. The mantra, ‘You fill my life with love’, is intended as an uplifting and heart-warming reminder of the impact you have on your partner.

We are also getting ready for International Women’s Day, in March – an event that is of as much importance today as it ever was. With the theme, ‘Balance for Better’, the message is that the world will be a better place when there is more gender parity across all walks of life.

Many of our mantras are created with the intention of encouraging women and girls in their confidence, self-belief and aspiration, as we still see so many women not fulfilling their potential.

A new necklace launching soon in our ‘Mantra Changes Lives’ collection is for the amazing charity, ‘Women for Women International’, which supports women in conflict zones. They have a very powerful statistic that it is more dangerous in times of conflict to be a woman, than a soldier. Watch out for news on this new collaboration, coming soon.

Finally this month, we are working on some new card designs for some of our pieces, and updating a couple of the mantras.

Our lovely Crown necklace is one such example, which we have given a new mantra: ‘Wear your confidence like a crown, and hold your head up high’. We feel this is a powerful mantra for a teenage daughter, struggling with her self-confidence; or a young colleague who is too shy to speak up at work. Self-belief is one of our most popular themes when it comes to customers buying gifts of Mantra Jewellery – take a look at the full selection here

I look forward to catching up with you again in February.

Jo xx
