MyJuly was partly about holiday, as I expected - a planned 2-week trip to Americawhich changed to two weeks in the Lake District. Itwas fantastic, with amazing walks, hiring a boat on the lake, a beach BBQ, kayakingtrips, and glorious sunshine in a beautiful part of the world. My sister andher family came up for a few days, so we were able to celebrate my nephew,Robin’s, 16th birthday, altogether as a family – which was reallylovely. But,very sadly, my July was also about loss, ...

June may not have been quite the month we had all hoped, with the end of all restrictions delayed by a few more weeks. But it feels better to take the time now to get it right, as we seem so close to the finish line.

May has been a wonderful month of doing things that I previously took for granted – dining outside at a fabulous pub in the Lake District; meeting my friend, Emma, for lunch at our local Warwickshire brasserie, sitting out in the sunshine; shopping for homewares – in actual shops. It has reminded me why these little things add so much enjoyment to life.

As this month comes to an end, with some new freedoms firmly established, and others still to come, I am looking forward to May as a month of rediscovery and excitement. For me, April has been a month of little adventures. A day trip to Bristol for lunch with a friend felt like a whole weekend away; while an overnight in Cornwall, with a BBQ on the beach, felt like an actual holiday!

As March comes to an end, and the dawn of new freedoms is temptingly close – we really are in full-blown Spring now, and I am feeling a real sense of freedom, and excitement of what is to come….

As February draws to a close, at least we have more of a plan for coming out of lockdown, and life starting to get back to normal again. We can also see and feel that Spring is on its way, with lighter evenings and milder temperatures – so it really does seem like we are turning a corner now.
